By A few summers ago, we had the chance to visit Subic Bay, a place in the north 2-3 hours away from Manila. Since we were with little kids, we had to make sure that we’d get to visit fun sites such as the Zoobic Safari and Ocean Adventure to watch the dolphin show.
Location matters, especially if you have too little time but too many ‘to see’ places and ‘to do’ things in your list. When in Subic, situating yourself in a place that’s close to everything will play a big part on how you’ll accomplish all those. That’s why our family chose the Moonbay Marina’s The Villas, as it is located in the central business district of Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The villas have a Euro-Mediterranean theme at their exteriors. They are a feast for the eyes, no doubt, especially when you realize that the entire bay is surrounded by mountains.
We were blessed to be able to book spacious rooms that are next to each other, so even though there are no doors in between rooms, every family member is close by. These rooms are called by Spanish names, specifically: La Luna, El Viento, El Sol and La Estrella. All rooms come with free access to swimming pool, complimentary breakfast for two (2), complimentary water, coffee and tea.

Location-wise, it is within walking distance to the beach and nearby restaurants such as The Lighthouse Grill, where we had our first dinner, and Pier One, which was right across the beach.
Duty free shops and stores that sell imported goods are also within reach, such as Royal Duty Free, Puregold, and numerous specialty outlets selling branded stuff, like Adidas, Freeport Exchange, Guess, Nike outlet and Signature Brands apparel.
