Family life rarely follows a fixed routine, which is where the E8 HEV’s 18 cabin configurations become useful. Its Magic Storage seating system allows families to adjust the interior depending on whether they are carrying passengers or larger items. With the third row folded flat, cargo capacity increases from 345 liters to 1,917 liters, providing additional room for groceries, luggage, sports equipment, furniture, or balikbayan boxes. The third row can also be used with Tea Break Mode, creating a more relaxed space during roadside stops or family outings. This flexibility allows the same vehicle to function as a daily school shuttle during the week and a family road-trip vehicle on weekends.
Comfort is another important consideration for a family MPV, particularly when spending several hours on the road. The E8 HEV features independent second-row captain’s seats, while the GX variant adds One-Touch Zero Gravity Captain’s Seats with ventilation, massage functions, and power leg rests. Parents and children can also stay connected through the 14.6-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster keeps key driving information visible to the driver. Wireless charging and seven USB ports provide additional convenience for families carrying multiple smartphones, tablets, and other devices.
Under the hood, the E8 HEV combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine with an electric motor, producing 182 PS and up to 300 Nm of electric-motor torque. Its 2-Speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) is designed to provide smooth and responsive acceleration, whether navigating city traffic or joining a highway. The hybrid system also provides the convenience of self-charging, meaning owners do not need to install a home charger or regularly search for charging stations. With a claimed fuel consumption of 5.58 L/100 km and a 60-liter fuel tank, GAC says the E8 HEV can travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a single tank, giving families greater flexibility for longer journeys.
Available in GL and GX variants, the GAC E8 HEV comes in Crystal White and Elegant Black with an all-black interior. The GL has an SRP of ₱1,858,000, while the GX is priced at ₱1,998,000. Both variants receive an ₱80,000 introductory savings, bringing their introductory prices to ₱1,778,000 and ₱1,918,000, respectively, for reservations made until September 30, 2026, subject to DTI Fair Trade Permit No. FTE B-264539 Series of 2026.
