Perlie’s Garden Restaurant – Summer’s Escape

When the sweltering heat of the summer sun subsided at 4:00PM, it was a relief to find myself at the Perlie’s Garden Restaurant in the cool breeze of Eastridge in Binangonan, Rizal.

You could say it’s too late for lunch and quite early for dinner. As much as I would have opted for merienda, however, it was difficult to pass up the chance to sample its buttered fried chicken, steamed rice, tuna sisig and  fish sinigang.

So we disregarded merienda, and likewise the time, and proceeded with our orders.

My family and I were to dine in an open gazebo that made it even easier to appreciate the surrounding sight of nature. Kids could jump over the trampoline while waiting for the food.  For a parent like myself, it’s great to be in a restaurant that welcomes kids, and makes them happy while in its premises as well.

Classic music filled the air, thanks to the restaurant staff who must have sensed how much I appreciate good music. The staff’s accommodation and friendliness were as commendable as the place.

Food was finally served and the home-cooked taste did not disappoint, particularly the fried chicken.

Eating in a garden restaurant such as Perlie’s provided a wonderfully different experience and it felt as if we ‘owned the place’ as there were no other customers around when we visited Perlie’s.

Perlie’s Garden Restaurant Rizal is open from Tuesday until Saturday and closed from Sunday to Monday.

    The Side Tripper

    “Make sure you don’t take any side trips,” warns Schumler, from a phrase in the 1993 American film Swing Kids.
