Spotted: McLaren 650S in Jakarta

We were at the One Pacific Place in Jakarta with my son to actually bring him in Kidzania Jakarta when we were stop seeing photographers taking pictures knowing lately that it was a media launching of Jeep 2015 Grand Cherokee. As car lovers we can’t let this chance to pass without looking a glance of the new Jeep 2015 Grand Cherokee.

I was taking photos of it when a McLaren 650s display was in front of us also, Because launching was held in front of McLaren Jakarta dealership. I was hesitant at first asking permission lucky enough Ms. Agnes Susanto the Personal Assistant to the CEO of McLaren Jakarta was so hospitable and kind enough to entertain us and even permitted us to take photos inside.  She was so kind to answer question my son Kyle is asking. She even invited us to see some of the displayed McLaren supercars.

McLaren 650S is equipped with a V8, 3.8 litre double turbo engine, that can generate 651hp and 678Nm of Torque. This supercar can reach the speed off 0-100km/hr in just three seconds and 200km/hr in just 8.6seconds. It has a maximum speed of 329km/hr. I was not sure if my memory serves me right Ms. Susanto said it was price 4.B Indonesian Rupiah at about 13 million plus in Philippine peso. Defends how our government in force the luxury car taxation but it was also price almost 270,00 US dollar in United States. I am not sure what the status of the company that will bring McLaren in the Philippines that will officially sell McLaren Cars here.

    The Side Tripper

“Make sure you don’t take any side trips,” warns Schumler, from a phrase in the 1993 American film Swing Kids. If you are someone who does not have time to lose, then it is better for you to stick to your main agenda, because there is something about side tripping that submerges the soul in experiences that sometimes make you hope that time would stand still, as the experiences they bring can be more impactful than the main trip itself. It is that free flowing agenda, an unexpected sleepover or a detour that has unintentionally brought pleasant surprises. You can live without it, like you can eat a cake without its icing, but your journey may not be as meaningful. If travel is the ‘best medicine for the heart’,* then for me, side trips are secret ingredients to the most memorable travels and other events that can happen in between or off the main route of one’s itineraries. Welcome to Side Tripper, a collection of photographs and blogs about the many side trip adventures of our family and friends. *Source: The Global Commission on Aging and Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies, in partnership with the U.S. Travel Association (Los Angeles Times, December 17, 2013 by Chris Erskine)
