On some days, blessings can be in tangible form, such as finding out that your name was drawn in a raffle promo that you had nearly forgotten, on the same day you’re giving thanks for your child’s special day.
One afternoon, I got a phone call saying that I won a treat at Cont’s Bakeshop and Restaurant from a promo by Robina Farms called “Sweet Treats for 2” where I was a participant.
It’s a sweet surprise indeed, considering that my family and I were planning a thanksgiving dinner on that same day anyway, and equally sweet was that it’s going to be at Conti’s Bakeshop and Restaurant.
Conti’s Bakeshop and Restaurant Serendra
My first encounter with this outlet dated back to when my son was still attending day care school at Gymboree Serendra in Bonifacio Global City over six years ago. Conti’s has a branch there and I still recall when my son would frequently munch on its chicken empanadas during recess time.
Many other dining-in and taking-out occasions followed, and they were sometimes in Conti’s Greenhills branch together with my officemates, and sometimes in Serendra branch with my mom and sisters.

Beef Tapa
In terms of the outlet’s structure, it’s always an even split between a restaurant corner and a bakeshop that has transparent refrigerators containing cakes, salads and instant viand that are ready for take-home for time-pressed customers who still appreciate elaborate meals.
There’s also something about Conti’s familiar vibe that makes you want to bring family or close friend, perhaps it’s the overall ambience that leans on the warm and casual side of class.
Mango Bravo Cake
Almost always though, including this very night when my family and I would have another dinner spree at Conti’s, my palate would take me to Conti’s two iconic menu items: the mango bravo cake (recommended for those with bias for cream and juicy mango bits) and baked Norwegian salmon topped with garlic cream toppling, with vegetables and grapes siding plus a cup of garlic rice (there was a time it was almond rice) One needs to actually taste them to understand where I am coming from when I say these are reasons enough to come back.

Apart from these, my husband also got to sample Conti’s lengua estofado while my son preferred beef tapa flakes with garlic rice and scrambled eggs on the night that we availed our prize.
Dinner was capped with Conti’s complimentary chocolate walnut torte cake, which brought delight to my son and a box of mini-cupcakes.
All glory and thanks to our Almighty Heavenly Father Yahweh from whom this blessing came.
